I found the following when I did a web search.
"I have been crocheting since I was 8 yrs old and I am now 60 yrs old, so I have done it for a long time. Two years ago I became paralyzed with MS and could only move my left hand a little bit left and right. I was about to go crazy not being able to do anything. The therapist gave me a large wooden crochet hook and then slid a large foam tube on the handle so I could grip the hook. It has taken me about 8 months but I now am able to crochet and so I can get back to my love of making items. I bought several foam tubes and put them on my regular hooks and they work great. So if you have a problem don't give up, you can figure a way to do it. If I can, so can you. These plastic foam tubes are found in the plumbing section at your hardware store, take a crochet hook with you because the center hole is different sizes on them. '
