I think they're an awesome machine. They're very versatile and Singer kept making feet and plate combinations that just kept expanding its abilities. Of course as with any industrial machine, it's easy to let it get way from you and it will discipline you for it. DH says it scares the he...ck out of him but he handles it well when I sit him in front of it. A healthy respect for the machine goes a long way. As does "slipping the clutch" a little.
