I would completely believe that. Of course, the one I came across that was in my budget was an electric one. I have since seen the same machine as a treadle with the decals I wanted for not much more than I paid for this one. D'oh. Of course the good thing is, I don't have to remember to "start right" so I don't snap my thread.
I'm notorious for that on my VS machines which are treadled.
