Terro is my go-to also! Thanks for info about it being non-toxic to pets! I've only used it on sills, etc, but today I see a path across the floor so will put some down! Very sticky on hands if you spill, but soap and water will take it off.

I started using it in the '80s when I lived in Minnesota and heard about it. It basically is a mixture of sugar and Borax in liquid form. You place it on a piece of paper or cardboard and set it in the middle of the path of ants. They take it back to their colonies and it destroys the entire colony. It's pretty harmless if a pet would happen to get into it. You can place it high enough that the baby can't reach it. I've used it when living in WA and CA as well, and it's been effective everywhere I've used it. Good luck with getting rid of them!
