I agree. I see no need to use it on piecing, and it is slower, and harder for me to keep the 1/4" allowance accurate. But I always use it for quilting, bindings or anytime I am sewing with batting layer.
This is me. I love it for quilting, of course, and use it for binding. But it would drive me crazy to use it for piecing because I can't see the fabric as well, and also it's too slow.
