Almost any thread will work, however DO NOT USE THE THREAD THAT SAYS QUILTING THREAD ON IT - I believe this is a Coats and Clark as it has a coating and will come off in your machine. I think it is really made for hand quilting and that coating keeps it from getting tangled so much on the needle.
