I'm using the Bowtie as a leader/ender project - kind of. I'm making them 3D. I think in my case 3 inch squares will be what I use in the end. Tried larger and smaller. I did NOT enjoy using 2.5 in squares way to small to line up. Here's a tute to show what I'm doing.

I used four inches--it seemed best for not cutting up the novelties too much. I tried fives, but they looked so big--I wanted more than (what would look like) 12 blocks in my quilt!
