Yes you can. It is basically a interfacing. When I first started quilting, they were using DoSew for the back of applique pieces. They put fabric and dosew together, sewed around the shape, cut a slit, turned inside out. I think it was before the bumpy, iron on interfacing that EB uses in her shows. It is not iron on. It was the same technique, gave the look of hand turned edges.
