Thank you, Sabine - it's been a lot of work, but I've wanted a red eye for years - never saw one I could afford until a couple months ago and it's worth every bit of money and elbow grease I've put into it.
HelenAnn, these three machines have all been through some ugly stages, but I knew from this thread that I shouldn't panic - the only thing that really threw me was the japanning going soft. And too, I wasn't sure how long I'm supposed to keep this up!
I was serious about re-reading this thread several times, though.
