I think each section of that block (5x5) would have to finish up 2.4" (originally 2"). So if you had 1/4" seams, you'd have to cut the square pieces to 2.9". If I were making it, I think I'd try making a sample by cutting 3", sew a little bigger than 1/4" seams. You also have to take into consideration the triangles. Another option is to enlarge it 120% and cut templates out of paper (don't forget to add seam allowance). Clear as mud??? LOL
