The Teflon does fit the Reliable. I'd rather use the shoe for anything messy than spend time cleaning the iron.

If you want sticky and messy - the spray on stablizers for heirloom sewing were very sticky. They were great, though as you could now use all your decorative stitches without resorting to adding machine tape.
