thank you for the ideas. I have loosened and retightened both the feed dogs and plate and they still rub. I took them both out and cleaned underneath them both. I think someone has worked on it because it has a different foot pedal than what I see in pics. the plate is Singer #352105 and the feed dog is Singer #352072. I have no schematics to check if they are the right numbers or not.
the number on the the bottom is MD004965. I could not find that number on the singer ID list. anyone know how old my machine is?
