Welcome aboard, Teri Lynn. I'm anxious to see all the blocks done in 1930s prints; I've never used them so I'll learn a lot from yinz for a future project.

Huskyquilter, you asked about bulky centers. Here's how I deal with them. I sew my sections together then remove the paper in the seam allowance and press the seam open. It takes some fiddling around with the center and sometimes I'll spritz a little water on it, hold the point of my iron on it and swear at it. I use 1/4" seams because the 1/8" seam didn't allow for pressing open.
