Default spiderweb quilt

1.start out with your background fabric, cut 9 inch squares and then cut them diagonally.

2.fold them in half to find the center, mark 1/4 inch from bottom. place marks on each side on this line 1/4 inch from the center. Measure 6 inches from long end to your corner. mark. now draw line from the quarter inch marks on each side of center to your 6 inch measurement mark. This will give you a kite shaped piece. I sacrificed one triangle and cut these ends off to make a template of the kite shape to make marking the rest a lot easier. Now the pieces that are left, I layed them on a piece of cardstock and cut 1/4 inch away from the edge to make a template for the strips.

3. Cut strips 1.5 inches wide, or use a honeybun. sew 6 strips side by side. and press

4.Take your triangular template and cut the triangles, back and forth all the way down the strip piece.

5.Mark background fabric triangles with the kite shape piece.

6.lay your strip triangles on the line you marked on the background fabric and sew. Press out and sew the other side on. I chain sewed all the first side and then pressed them all then sewed all the other side.

7. trim off anything on the outside of the background fabric, then finally, trim the background fabric under your strip section.
