Could you check with local quilt shops or quilting guilds to find someone that would love and use it as it was intended to be used?
It is beautiful. Don't let them remove it from that wonderful cabinet. Don't let them paint the cabinet. Don't let them ruin the machine. I'm sure there are sewists that are aching to own a machine that nice.
