I don't have this book but I have made several QAYG queen size quilts. I always quilt the blocks before I join them. This is the reason I use QAYG technique.....since you have already finished the quilt top...I would use Prism99 suggestion and split the batting in 3....I have done this with 2 queen size quilts and it works fine..you can join the batting with tape or just zigzag it...
