As for the birds...I had an art instructor once tell me to always add a bird to the sky...that birds add life...
When I asked her about the people or animals in a painting, she repeated herself..."birds add life".
Reminds me of my mother. She oil paints and when has a lot of sky she feels she must put a bird in it!!
