If you look at Rodney's pic you can see that there is room next to the machine for the belt go around the wheel and to clear the table. That is going to be true no matter what machine you use. That said there are some machines that have a channel for the belt to go through such as a Singer 238 or a Singer 411G. I think you may have better luck treadling something with a good sized balance wheel.
