Patience and persistence will pay off. Try thrift stores. I don't know how it is in your market but I can usually find decent machines for under $30 in at least some of the ones around here. Count on a couple hours of cleaning and checking things though. But then chances are the Craig's List machines aren't going to be pristine either. Shopgoodwill is another option, just be careful of shipping costs.
