I'm in KS and we've had a very weird summer--way more rain than normal and cool temps all Spring until after the 4th--when it turned steamy. As a result, everyone's garden has been mediocre at best--mine's a disaster--and my kohlrabi never even came up. My daughter told me today that in the city they saw kohlrabi priced at $5 a lb! And that the bundles were fairly big and you couldn't separate. So do investigate those unusual veggies.
