The HST don't have to use bigger squares, just stitch on the center line instead of both sides of it. You'll only get one HST instead of two - and have the smaller triangles to save for something else. Your pattern isn't using that many of them, so if you already have a lot of precut 5" squares, I'd use them anyway.
I'll do that, then. Maybe quilting will help me get some geometry skills. lol I found some more brown batik, but haven't found grey batik I like. Thanks again! Marcy
