It's a nice heavy duty swing-needle. Like Mariam says, you'll need the disks, especially the zig-zag. I believe I have multiples, so, I can send one if you can't find one. It's not my choice for sewing either straight stitch or swing-needle, but, if it were my only machine, it would be sufficient. For less than $30, it's a steal.
Edit: there may be others post about the odd 206 needle and odd bobbin and converting timing/and/or the bobbin case to accept 15 needles. To me that's overkill for a minor problem. 206 needles are available in the 12 and 14 sizes which accomodates most of my sewing. If I need a larger needle, I use a different machine.
