My book discussion group is doing both of Harper Lee's books for our September meeting. I re-read "mockingbird" and just finished "Go Set A Watchman" yesterday. It was strange. My personal opinion was that the quirkiness of Scout as a child did not translate well as a grown-up. It was hard for me to keep remembering that the second book was written before the first. And if I remember correctly, the man was found guilty in "Mockingbird" but in "Watchman" she remembers him being acquitted, and what a big deal it was that Atticus actually won, defending a black man in those times. But I do encourage you to read it. It is certainly a statement for the 60's and today.
