big fan of john sandford's "prey" series set in minnesota--earliest part of the series is the better part (most of it is in the twin cities area. every car chase takes place on streets i know). now reading william kent krueger's minnesota "cork o'conner" series. they take place in the northern part of the state, in mining/BWCA country. enjoying them a lot--not as harsh as sanford's settings. patricia cornwell's series, also--i guess i'm stuck on police procedurals, coroner's investigations, etc. married to a deputy for too many years, and i spent too many years giving anesthesia to ever really leave it all behind...
