Cutting corn is a messy job...With a large bowl in my lap, I hold the ear in my left hand over the bowl, and wth a knife in the right hand cut the corn off the cob with a slight sawing motion moving the knife towards you...sitting down with a bowl in my lap works best for me...a sharp knife makes the cutting go faster.. DIL did most of the cutting as I blanch and cool and cut during the odd moments in between. 2 oldest girls did all the bagging...everyone shocked...oldest GS carried the cut cobs to the steers..today they are off for a last outing before school starts...we always did the same with ours...
