Done! Pretty good job too for a first attempt, if I do say so myself (IIDSSM). It looks perfect to me. I was super careful to end the stitching precisely at the origin of the miter.

Thanks for your kind words. According to the revised pattern, the dark brown border should have been 9.5" wide. (I changed the square size from 2" in the original design to 2.5" because the completed size was too small.) Because of my changes, the quilt was getting too big, so I opted for the borders you see. I'm leaning toward the brown binding that Nancy and Gale have recommended; the revised border is not as prominent as the wide one would have been and the dark brown is more practical for a house with two dogs.

I deliberately made this quilt understated, with muted colors. I wanted it to be useful - in the true sense of the word - and soothing.
