If you look closely there are places where 2 ends of the steel blades butt up against each other. If you don't maintain these areas by removing threads, the build up can eventually push the blades apart.
I think because the studio dies cut many more layers then the Go the buildup would be more compacted around the blades.
I've checked and so far no build up at all in Go my dies at those points. The rag die is the only one that gets thread build up. Too much for me to be picking out after each use so I will buy another die if the tread does hinder the cutting.
