Oh my gosh, I'm currently working on the exact same thing. I found her directions for cutting very strange, (or maybe my brain just is not working correctly). Ended up cutting enough colored tips that I could make many more stars (but without the center star) and had to cut extras of the black to have enough. Still not finished yet, my stars are just getting the black outline right now. Yours is beautiful.
