I did a log cabin a couple of years ago in a 'star' pattern for the blocks. It was a graduation gift so I chose to hand quilt starts just scattered about. I wanted the recipient to know he was a 'star' for his efforts. He loves the quilt. I use warm & natural batting so could do them fairly well spaced. It was a great deal easier than doing all the outlining - which I will frequently do. Seems like scattered stars would work well with your quilt considering you have them throughout your quilt. I'm sure whatever you decide to do will be lovely. It's a great quilt.
