Teri Lynn, the second photo you posted is a quilt I made two years ago. It was easy and does have a pattern. It is made is segments that are then sewn together. If you don't have the, let me know and I can find it or post the source or send you a copy. I got it from a free online site. I gave the finished quilt away and the gal is still telling me how much she enjoys looking at all of the many, many prints in the quilt. It sure uses a lot of 2.5 squares, about 1300 if I recall. But fun. I would consider doing it again.
