I seem to be in the majority here. I really love white-on-white fabrics and use them as backgrounds and as a base for dyeing fabric. The white paint resists the dye. I love the look of a dyed background overlaid with a white pattern. I've made two Chinese coin quilts using only white-on-whites for the coins. I bordered one with four different black-and-white prints. After quilting and binding, I dyed the entire quilt in the washing machine. It is so cool the way the different pieces picked up the dye.
