Thanks for all your kind words about my mediocre machine-quilting! I've only done a few trial pieces before, but I just wanted to use each of the squares of the rail fence to try out some FMQ patterns - and I decided NOT to undo it even if the result is a little crocked. It does look better on the picture from some distance than if I look too close... The recipient is not a quilter, so I hope it looks okay to her. And you are all right - there's been lots of love in it, with all the imperfections! Doing this quilt definitely gave me some experience in handling a whole quilt on a DSM, and I am definitely more pleased with the FMQ blocks I did last than the earlier ones. I'm learning and improving!
