I am so glad I read this post. I am starting a class (my first) next month and never gave a thought of anyone "accidently" taking my rulers or other supplies.
I will make sure and mark everything!
Being a beginner, I can understand the cost of the supplies. I have been lucky so far to buy the most expensive things with the 40-50% off coupons from Joannes. However, everything is so expensive you don't want to lose it.
I don't have a problem with sharing either, but the operative word is "share" which means to me that you use it then return it.
