I would certainly want an honest response to help me improve my work skills and choices.
saying something like, "I like the pink border better than the blue one.", isn't really helpful. Why is the pink better, what quality does the pink bring to the quilt that blue doesn't.
In all my years of quilting it has been my experience that most people are afraid to actually make a decision and want more than anything to not be responsible for their choices because most of us have never been taught to be analytical or have confidence. The majority of people are stifled from a very early age. It starts when we are old enough to make choices like which hand to write with and constantly being told no by every adult in a child's life.
It builds until we can't even put two colors together and say yes, it works.
My creed is to try to unlearn everything I was fed in school and find my own way through. I have never been happier than when I make my own decisions.
Sorry for the long rant. It seems to be near to my heart.
