if i make it for someone i have a curious detachment from it from the beginning. it's full of thoughts about the person it's for, but i don't ever seem to wish i could keep it. it's a little harder if it's one imade without an owner in mind, though i recently sold a quilt i liked very much because it just wasn't really my styleand totally belonged where itwas going. the same thing happened with a quilt i unexpectedly sold, and loved much more finished than i did in process.
the comfort is in the joy they bring to others. but there are a few in this house that aren't going anywhere as long as i draw breath!
