I don't have any real information for you. It is most likely Japanese made. The Japanese makers would put any name on a machine the buyer wanted as long as they bought enough of them. Many manufacturers in other countries did the same thing so it's really not something exclusive to the Japanese. My avatar is a good example of a badged machine. I never thought there was a "Rodney" brand out there but it turns out they imported several different models and had several different logos over the years.
