I recommend you check out Craftsy. They have hundreds of free patterns and more patterns the you would pay for, most of which are downloadable (instant gratification <lol>). There are cute tote and purse patterns, wallets, notebook covers, zipper pouches, "ditty" bags, etc. If they travel, you can make them a set that includes a ditty bag, luggage tags, eye covering, tissue holder, etc.

If they have automobiles, you could make them a steering wheel cover and matching trash bag.

You can make them a microwaveable bowl holder, or a placemat, mug rug, napkin set.

And Craftsy has wearables patterns, too, like skirts, tops, etc.

I made this lunch bag for myself, but found it a little small, so am going to alter the pattern slightly. Then, my 7 year old granddaughter has claimed it for herself.
