I have always used the inexpensive irons from WalMart, although I would love to have an Oliso, someday. But, after reading about a ladies iron that burst into flames, I now make it a practice to unplug my iron when I am going to be gone or done for the day. I don't want to take any chances. I also, unplug my sewing machine, when I am through for the day. In case of power surge, lightening, electrical issues, I don't want my precious sewing machine ruined, because I didn't want to take a few seconds to unplug it. I sacrificed a lot to buy her and want to take good care of her. As you may have noticed they aren't cheap!!! HaHaHa! Just a practice I have gotten into the habit of. Kind of like putting on my seat belt in my car. Just a suggestion & reminder to my QB friends.
