The strip on your credit card contains all kinds of information that can be stolen. It's been referred to as electronic pickpocketing. If you can just tap your credit card on a machine and it draws the information from the chip in the card, apparently the information can be taken from your card through your purse. Not sure how.........but they make special sleeves, or cases to keep your cards in, so I was going to make a pretty one and wondered if the insulbrite would work. I'm going to take the suggestion to go to the store and put my credit card on the machine using the insulbrite between the card and the reader and see what happens.
Here's some more info
