The other option I would really consider would be a silver metallic. A simple SITD would really glisten without taking away too much from the stunning colors you daughter selected.
Ive never tried a metallic thread but this idea intrigues me. I would probably wimp out and use a monofilament invisible thread. Love the colors and texture of your quilt.
