Oh, and I will think about Bree's suggestion of straight line quilting, maybe doing some ruler work right down the middle of the strips. I use a sitdown quilting machine so lots of long straight lines are painful though it would give a modern look to the quilt.
i admit this quilt is growing on me. It is even brighter IRL than the picture shows, and my eyes were glad I was mostly looking at the back during the piecing. I won't have that luxury while quilting
