You might be able to lay a table surface across that big open space in the back and put paper pantographs there. Follow them with a laser light mounted on the back left side of the machine (as you are standing in the back alongside the back of the machine) and quilt from right to left. That would be easier than following it up on a high shelf, but you have to get the table under the machine's carriage, and everything has to be absolutely level, everywhere. Good luck!
