BTW saw this today and the juxtaposition of the two machines and prices really caught my eye

for reference;
The machine on the left is an industrial machine from the later 1800's early 1900's that used a very precise stitch feed mechanism and sews an amazing chainstitch. Would work all day every day, no complaints

The machine on the right is a child's toy machine. the body is actually wood not metal. it is also a chainstitch machine, and it kinda sorta works most of the time.
