I always use mine for binding. Check with your dealer about your machine specifics, but my machine will do simple decorative stitches with the walking foot. I use the 1/4" adaptor to sew the first seam to attach the binding to the quilt. It really helps to get a nice even seam. If you do all machine binding, you can sew the binding to the back then bring it to the front and attach with the foot & a decorative stitch. I just tried the mock flanged binding for the first time yesterday (tutorial: http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...g-t200207.html ). I used the SITD attachment for the final step, and it came out perfect. Of course the SITD foot makes quilting easy!
