I would tell only if the person could correct the mistake. I would want to know if it were my quilt top.
I do not consider cut off points or other problems with quilting techniques mistakes.
I would want to know any tricks to make my piecing more accurate for future quilts and would ask for suggestions. That is how I learn and improve over time. I would point out piecing or other problems only if the quilter asked.
