Oh ladies this makes me so happy, happy, happy! I love all things Christmas & to already be started with Secret Santa makes me feel just like I did when I was 7 years old! I could care less what my house looks like so come join me. Weather is great here today. We are still clinging to summer here so it maybe too warm for some; definitely no fall chill here yet - I wish! Wine is chilling and there's plenty to snack on. I LOVE entertaining so please join me.
This is my first year in the swap so I love that Cindy asked us for more detail about ourselves.
Here's my updated list:
1. Favorite colors: my all time fav is yellow. I also love for quilting bright white, turquoise, navy, red and pink. My least favorites are brown, orange, beige and gold; another words the fall colors. I love fall in nature, just not wild about the color palette for my quilts.
2. Favorite fabrics: I love dots, checks and stripes, especially when paired with bright white. I love Moda, Riley Blake and Robert Kaufman fabric companies. I'm one of the few who is not a fan or collector of batiks. Unless I'm looking for a particular color I usually walk right past them.
3. My quilting style is definitely more on the traditional side. I love charm packs & jelly rolls but tend to look for patterns that are more traditional.
4. I just recently inherited a cat when my daughter moved out & her landlord wouldn't allow pets. She is a very sweet calico kitty, about 6 years old, named Koshou which means trouble in Japanese. Her favorite spot is either any quilt I'm working on or the ironing board right when I want to use it. 😻
5. Coffee AND tea. I need at least 3 cups of coffee in the morning to get moving & the darker & stronger the better. Think dark roast or Sumatra. I love tea, especially in the afternoon. I love all things tea party related. I throw an annual Christmas Tea Party for all my lady friends so have fun collecting tea cups and all sorts of tea related paraphernalia.
6. Chocolate - is a basic food group in my world. Any kind and any form - except raisinettes. Why ruin 2 perfectly good things by combining them -yuck!
7. Always homemade. Nothing store bought can replace the love that goes into a homemade gift.
8. Bright big Gerbera Daisies are my current favorite flower. I also love violets.
9. Favorite snack is popcorn, light butter and salt. If I'm in a sweet mood, Carmel or kettle corn.
10. When I'm in my sewing room I'm most likely catching up on DVR'd shows like Grey's, Scandal, The Blacklist or one of the many Masterpiece Classics. I love party tunes and classic rock.
