Default Necchi Goes Back to the Future

We're shopping for a more stout machine to make our products - hoping to find something between our early 70's Kenmores and big honkin' industrials.
The Necchi HD22 was suggested so we checked it out.
It's made by Janome...sold as a Heavy Duty choice for people like us who need a strong versatile machine but not a $1,500 commercial machine. 22 stitches...cast alloy housing...high lift foot...strongest motor in their line...1.08 amp vs .57 for the others in their line...mechanical controls

It's a 1971 Kenmore.
The Kenmore is 1 Amp.
The foot lift is exactly the same. Same stitches.

By comparison to most everything else in the consumer world it is Heavy Duty.
But really...they just went back to the future.
