I no longer buy anything longer than 7 yards. All the long lengths are washed and folded into one specific Rubbermaid tub. When it is full, as it is now, I avoid all the sales! That tub holds enough backing for 7 oversized quilts.
When I was younger, I had a closet to store such in the dark and kept them on the bolts.
