Default Quilts of Colbert County (Alabama)

Today I went to an exhibit of antique quilts in a neighboring county, a collection belonging to Mr. Glen Rikard, whose mother was also a prolific quilter. It was staged at Belle Mont, a Palladian-style home built in 1833-1835, which now belongs to the Alabama Historical Commission.

I photographed a few of the newer quilts:

but it was the antique quilts that I really went to see. All of them were interesting, and although most were worn and faded, some of the workmanship was outstanding.
