I prefer the clear plastic boxes with lids. They stack well and come in different sizes, so when I just have the fabric for a project it goes in a med. then when I got it all cut out it goes in a small, then after it starts going together it gets to move to a large.
I use the chicken boxes in my attic for longterm storage.
